What is the NDIS?
The National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) funds supports for Australians with a permanent and significant disability. You get a plan with funding, and you choose who provides your supports.
Who can apply?
In general, you need to:
- be aged under 65 when you apply,
- live in Australia and be an Australian citizen, permanent resident or hold a Protected Special Category Visa, and
- have a permanent and significant disability that affects everyday life, or need early intervention support.
The NDIS makes the final decision. Its website has an eligibility checklist.
How to apply
- Check the eligibility requirements on ndis.gov.au.
- Make an access request, with evidence from your doctor or treating professionals.
- If approved, have a planning conversation about your goals.
- Receive your plan and choose your providers.
Managing your plan
There are three ways your funding can be managed. We currently support plan-managed and self-managed participants.
NDIA-managedThe NDIA pays registered providers for you. We can't support this option until our registration is approved.
Plan-managedA plan manager pays your invoices and tracks your budget.
Self-managedYou pay providers and claim from the NDIS yourself.

A local south-east Melbourne provider, started to close a gap
Care Together Services is a locally based NDIS provider supporting people across the south-east Melbourne corridor. It was founded by Muhammad Ali, who also built the software we use to run our rosters, worker checks and NDIS billing.

Frequently asked questions
Which areas does Care Together Services cover?
We are based in south-east Melbourne and support people in Officer, Berwick, Narre Warren, Cranbourne, Drouin, Warragul and surrounding suburbs. Call 0409 383 353 to check your address.
Do I need an NDIS plan to use your services?
Yes, for NDIS-funded support you need an approved NDIS plan. If you are still applying, we can explain the steps and point you to the right NDIS contacts.
Is Care Together Services a registered NDIS provider?
Not yet. We have applied for registration with the NDIS Quality and Safeguards Commission and are waiting for a decision. Until then we can support participants whose funding is plan-managed or self-managed, but not NDIA-managed.
Do you work with self-managed and plan-managed participants?
Yes. We support plan-managed and self-managed participants. NDIA-managed participants can only use registered providers, so we cannot support NDIA-managed plans until our registration is approved.
Can I choose my own support worker?
Yes. We match workers based on your goals, personality, language and culture. If a match is not right, tell us and we will find someone else.
How quickly can support start?
It depends on the support you need and worker availability. Call us on 0409 383 353 and we will give you an honest timeframe on the first call.
What checks do your support workers have?
Our workers hold an NDIS Worker Screening Check clearance, current First Aid and relevant disability training.
Are you an NDIS provider?
We run Care Together on RaddeCare+, the NDIS software our founder built for this business. It's now available to other providers.
